Today members received a potted history of Sydney in the form of an excellent tour of the Queen Victoria Building. This heritage listed, late 19th Century Romanesque building, was designed by the architect George McRae on land being used for markets, between 1893 and 1898. It was used for a variety of purposes, underwent remodelling and suffered decay until its restoration and return to its original use in the late 20th Century.
Thanks, Keri, for organising the outing and bringing the building to life.
